Amber Girl

Pet memorials are one of the best reasons to draw.

Amber’s family was good friends with Lily’s family. Amber’s owners had admired the portrait that celebrated Lily’s life.

Amber was the husband’s dog. The wife had her own dog when they met. The two dogs did not get along as well as the humans did. To the wife, Amber was an inconvenience at best. Over the course of time, the wife’s opinion of Amber’s presence changed from inconvenience to appreciation to love.

The main subject of this drawing was a selfie the wife had done, affectionately kissing Amber while she snapped the photo. The inset photo shows one way Amber Girl made a place in her family’s fun time. As they would boat, Amber would have to stand in her “Happy Place.”
