Star Upper Left

Hand-painted artwork fascinates me. 

Paint lasts so much longer than vinyl. Hand-painted lettering continues to communicate for many years, often many decades. This star was re-claimed from a welcome billboard that was on display left of the Chestnut Avenue (Loop 150) bridge entering downtown Bastrop. It is estimated that the sign board was originally painted in the early eighties.
